On Tuesday last week we went to Buderim Scouts. Emma-Kate my friend came as well. But we came early, because the Cubs start an hour before scouts. Luckily, Dad was also there, and he taught us how to splice the ends of a rope. It’s trickier than it looks! i also learnt how to do a round lashing (as easy as adding 1+1 to a learned mathematician) and a prussick lashing.
At the actual Scouts, a man from the Gem Club came and talked to us about rocks: Thundereggs, agates, ribbonstone, and others were all discussed that evening. He had some fine examples of what they were too. I thought the patterns in the ribbonstone were the most beautiful. But the agates and the thundereggs were also cool.

After a long talk about rocks, we just did miscellaneous stuff. Emma-Kate and I made a swing, and I completed my Red Cord!
After a good time at Scouts we went home. I wonder what Scout Group I’ll go to next????
