I will make your paths straight…

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and Lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
Do you ever feel like the path you’re on is taking you on a merry detour somewhere? Welcome to my life!
After some 14000kms you’d think we’d know where we’re going, and how we’re doing this….but dow dow we have no certain direction. The way is not clear. The path is foggy, and obscured. I worry about that a little bit too much I think. I love travelling, I love being with my family, I love the constantly changing scenery… It’s just…well… we’re not quite as financial as we had hoped. I trust in God, I seek Him regularly…. We as a family are literally at His beck and call. I pray we have ears to hear and eyes to see…. We have surrendered our agenda to the Living Lord, to do His work, Where He wants us, When He chooses. That part I have no problem with….it’s just well, this is so hard sometimes. And we are soooo broke. How on earth can we do this? I bet you think that’s a weird thing to say but truth is…we can’t afford to do this, yet here we are….doing-this! I don’t always understand why we go some of the places we go….yet that doesn’t bother me too much. Things don’t always go well, we’ve had many yucky moments, cranky moments and teary (I’ve got nothin’) moments. We’ve set up & packed up in the dark, in the rain, in the frost, in the heat, we’ve busted things, hurt ourselves, been crook, had to deal with foul toilets, creepy crawlies, bugs and slugs and all manner of people. And yet here we are…..
Just because we are serving God and stepping out in faith doesn’t give us a 100% assurance that it will be smooth sailing…(I’m suddenly reminded of me being sick as the huge waves crashed over the stern of the Boat on our sailing back from Tassie). On the contrary…it is most definitely not easy doing what we’re doing. However I know with 100% assuredness that our Lord and Saviour is watching over us…directing us, helping us, and providing for us. Whether with ‘Mobile Mission Maintenance’ or with ‘Mothers Of Preschoolers’ or something far simpler…it’s all about Him, He is the compass that we’re following.
Oh if I could only still my mind, quench my fears, quiet those taunting accusations that point out so expertly why we’re struggling…..and lean into His loving embrace, inhale the fragrance of Christ and just simply trust. Now that would really be something!
“I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip- he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you- the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm- he will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Psalm 121

This song describes my feelings so eloquently....

I love the end verse. Hold onto that!

"I know I'm filled to be emptied again.
The seed I've received I will sow"

You guys are going to feel completely empty, financially, emotionally, physically, but God's planted a seed in you to sow into people's lives and that's what you are doing! Keep the Faith! Hmm that reminds me of another song (not from a Christian band, but if you read the lyrics, it has some meaning!)

Rowville!! That's where I picked up the Prado from 2 years ago! I'm sure Waverly Golf Course is where Andrew played with his Dad and Sean Hinton many years ago when we were down there too! Melbourne's a small place! ;o)
