We find ourselves in Ranelagh, just North of Huonville. A beautiful place… There’s a lot of great memories here for The Askey-Doran family. We parked beside Mum & Sir’s Bus in the sprawling back yard of the inimitable Great Aunty Margaret, cousin Catherine from Kalgoorlie and the legendary cousin Jo. It’s just beautiful… from our tent, we can see Mountain vistas, cattle grazing, Roses as large as Coconuts, chooks doing what chooks do…apple trees, Blackberry bushes & my favourite…the liquid amber tree! One of the Mountains we can see is named “Sleeping Beauty” and if you look carefully you can see a face…

Great Aunty Margaret is an absolute peach! She made us all feel so welcome and the children just adored her! Cousin Catherine from Kalgoorlie had her puppy dog “Ike” with her, the poor wee thing was loved within an inch of it’s life by our dog loving chillens! And cousin Jo…hmmm…..how do I put this, cousin Jo is an absolute walking talking legend! We tried very hard to establish which of the stories we had heard were actually truth, which were based in truth and which were just plain fiction!
